#NaNoWriMo2019 – And so it’s over!

Happy December peeps!

We’ve made it to the other side of #NaNoWriMo!

Did you make your goals? Write every day? Feel good about your project?

Even if you say “no” to all those questions, you should still be proud of yourself! Even if you only wrote five words, or just made it through the planning stages, that’s content you didn’t have before starting. Be proud of whatever progress you made – a novel is a huge undertaking and just starting it is its own accomplishment.

I made it to 50k, but I still have a long way to go before I get to the end of this draft. I’m hoping to finish it by the end of December, but without the rush of #NaNoWriMo to keep me going, I know it’s only a matter of time before I start slacking on writing daily again. Still, I’ve gotten much farther on Withered Legacy than I ever have in any of my previous attempts to write it, so yay!

Drop me a line and let me know how #NaNoWriMo treated you – let’s commiserate on the trials, tribulations, and successes! What’s your favorite line you wrote this month? I’ll leave you with mine:

“Clarity comes with the pain, slowly slipping back into my consciousness, and I blink a few times again, clearing my vision of the tears that now drip down the sides of my face and into my ears.” – Withered Legacy

  1. Even once I started taking Sundays off, NaNoWriMo did some pretty serious damage to my health that’s going to take a while to recover from. I am hoping to find a more sustainable work pace this month and finish as well though–it turns out Cat’s The Pajamas is more naturally a series of novellas than novels, so I am over halfway on the first book.

Favorite line is hard with all the push to keep going forward, but off the top of my head I am rather pleased I had an opening to give Cat Kinnery the dialogue “What do the fox say?”

When I start up writing again I will be continuing to tweet my progress if that helps your motivation. I look forward to seeing what comes of Withered Legacy!
