Happy Tuesday!
I’m back in the game and you know what that means – another round of #TuesFlashFicTrain! It’s been a while, but I’m off to a good start by getting this post up in advance. Here’s to trying really hard to keep this kind of punctuality up from now on. In anticipation for this round, I’ve also put up the completed stories from the last two rounds – you can check them out here and here.
On to the prompt and a brand new story!
I wanted to do something special for this time, since it’s the fifth round. So, instead of giving a theme or idea, this round will consist of incorporating well-known quotes or idioms into your stories. For week one of round 5, considering how long it’s taken me to get back into things, I want you to write the beginning of a new story while incorporating the phrase “Better late than never.” Your story can be anything you want it to. This is always my favorite week in a round – so much potential to explore!
Remember, keep it under 400 words & submit your response in the comment section below. Don’t forget to include your twitter handles and/or other social media links for promotion! Submissions close on Friday @ 11:59 PM EST – tell your friends!
Questions, suggestions? Check out the rules in more detail and/or drop me a line!
As always, think happy thoughts!
Here is my idea to start this story: https://thisisnothitchhikersguide.wordpress.com/2016/06/09/the-commute/
