Just a short one this morning. Trying to get ahead of things by putting up posts a little earlier, so there might be another post later today. Who knows? Since I’ve been working on my piece for Maidens and Magic, I feel like I haven’t had time for anything else. Hopefully once it’s done I can get back to more regular contributions to my serials.
Today’s post comes courtesy of Tara’s #100wordchallenge over at Thin Spiral Notebook.
I’ve always thought myself a pretty rational person. Level-headed, not prone to panic.
And yet here I am, close to losing my mind because I can’t find a proper dress to wear. Honestly, that’s not what I should be worried about at the moment, but I suppose displacing my nerves at meeting my vampire in-laws makes some sense, right?
And so the frantic search for a dress continues.
Digging through my oversized dresser, I finally settle on a forest green, satin gown. I’m so frustrated with myself I don’t even care anymore. Dressing up won’t hide the fact I’m human.
We’re getting closer to what will hopefully prove to be an interesting encounter with her in-laws. I’ve got some ideas I’m dying to get out, so here’s hoping a future prompt will set the stage!
Friendly reminder: Don’t forget to hop on the #TuesFlashFicTrain! We’re near the end of this round so don’t miss your chance to play with Gloria’s story 🙂
As always, think happy thoughts!
